Jason Robb

Jason Robb is a freelance drill writer, pageantry designer, and educational consultant living in the suburbs north of Austin, Texas with his wife Jackie and son Joseph. He received his Bachelor of Music in Education and Trumpet Performance from Sam Houston State University in Houston, Texas.

Noah Bellamy

Visual Designer

Noah currently lives in Canton, MI where he is the visual designer and consultant for the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Marching Band. After marching with the Cavaliers in 1996, Noah went on to teach visual performance at Centerville High School.

Joshua Wendt

Visual Coordinator

Joshua has served marching bands and drum corps in various capacities for the last 10 years. He currently instructs, designs, and choreographs for a plethora of programs around the country including multiple BOA Grand National Finalists. Joshua has worked with Phantom Regiment and Carolina Crown both as a choreographer for the horn line as well as a member of the visual team.

Daniel Montoya Jr.

Brass Arranger & Composer

Daniel Montoya Jr. is the Brass Composer/Arranger for the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps. His education includes a master’s degree in wind conducting from Texas State University where he studied with Dr. Caroline Beatty, a master’s degree in music composition from Central Michigan University where he studied with David R. Gillingham, and a baccalaureate degree in music composition from Texas State University.

Matt Hahn

Front Ensemble Arranger

Matt Hahn is an active designer and percussion educator in the Dayton, OH area. Matt is currently the Front Ensemble and Sound Designer for the Madison Scouts Drum And Bugle Corps. In 2012, Matt founded Resonant Music Design, a company specializing in marching arts design and education of all kinds.

Ryan Ellis

Battery Arranger

Ryan Ellis is an active music educator in the Cincinnati area and has performed with such ensembles as Rhythm X, Blue Devils, Bluecoats, and the Spirit of Atlanta.

Tykeem Rainey

Color Guard Coordinator

Tykeem Rainey is an active choreographer and technician in the San Antonio, TX area at Ronald Reagan High School and Winston Churchill High School. He was a member of the color guard at the Madison Scouts from 2008-2011. Upon aging out, Tykeem served as an intern and staff member from 2012-2014.

Travis Wade

Graphic Designer

Travis Wade is a native of South Carolina and received his BA in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina where his studies focused on motor movement learning and dance education. His involvement in the performing arts began at an early age as a dancer and continued through college where he founded Project Dance, a charitable dance company.

Dylan’s experience as an educator and performer has crossed the marching arts spectrum in brass and percussion throughout the past decade. Dylan has performed with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps, Carolina Crown, and NorthCoast Academy Percussion Ensemble.

Kenneth Kamping

Kenneth Kamping is excited to continue as a trumpet tech on the Madison Scouts Brass Staff! During the school year, Ken is the Elementary Band and GM teacher at Charles E. Walters Elementary School in Yaphank, NY.

Trevor Turner

Trumpet Instructor

Trevor has been involved in the marching arts for over eight years. As a drum major in high school, he had the opportunity to attend leadership clinics such as SASi Leadership and Jones Leadership, where he learned many valuable leadership skills that he carries with him to this day.

Thomas Vieira

Trumpet Instructor

Thomas Vieira currently serves as the Director of Bands at Traverse City Central High School in Traverse City, Michigan, where he oversees all aspects of the Trojan Band program. This is Thomas' first year on staff with the Madison Scouts.

Harrison Thornton

Mellophone Instructor

Harrison Thornton is currently a senior Music Education Major at the University of South Carolina. During his time at USC, Harrison has worked with several high school programs including James F. Byrnes and River Bluff High School.

Katherine Willer

Mellophone Instructor

Katherine Willer is a band director living in Austin, Texas. She graduated with honors from the University of Houston in 2018 with her Bachelor’s of Music Education. While at the University of Houston, Katherine was a drum major for the Spirit of Houston Cougar Marching Band.

Connor Barnette

Baritone Instructor

Connor Barnette has been a baritone/euphonium technician with the Madison Scouts since the beginning of the 2022 season. Previously, he had been a low brass technician for the Legends Drum and Bugle Corps. Connor's drum corps experience includes marching with Carolina Crown from 2012-2016, where he served as section leader, and also with the Blue Devils in 2017. He graduated with honors and a concentration in trombone from the University of North Texas with his Bachelors in Music Education in 2018.

Jeremy Cover

Baritone Instructor

Jeremy is completing a bachelor’s degree in music education at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. He has been studying trombone with Dr. Brad Palmer since 2016 and also studied with both Lyndon Meredith of the London Philharmonic and Carol Jarvis during his time studying at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, England.

Kyle Hamrick

Baritone Instructor

Kyle Hamrick is currently a senior music education major at the University of Oklahoma and will be graduating in May of 2020. During his time at OU, he has performed in many ensembles, including the OU Wind Symphony. Kyle has also been a member of The Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band and is a tech at Carl Albert High School.

Aaron Stickley

Baritone Instructor

Aaron Stickley is currently the Assistant Director of Bands at Dickinson High School in Dickinson, Texas. When Aaron is not teaching, he is an active visual designer and choreographer for band/indoor programs throughout Arkansas and Texas. His drum corps experience includes performing with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps (2012) and Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (2014) on baritone and trumpet. Aaron was also on the brass staff for the Genesis Drum & Bugle Corps (2019) as a low brass instructor.

Matthew Cole

Matthew Cole is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina Greensboro, where he studied under Dr. Dennis Askew and Dr. Justin Worley. Matthew is a graduate of the Minnesota Southeast Technical College and is now employed with Music & Arts as an Instrument Repair Technician.

A North Carolina native, Mack Garner received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Music Education.  At UNCG, Mack was an active member of the University Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Tuba Band, and many chamber ensembles.​

Tyler Sage

Tuba Instructor

Originally from the St. Louis Area, Tyler began his DCI career as a member of the Colts in 2009, and went on to win two Jim Otts and a Silver medal as a member of Carolina Crown’s brassline from 2010-12.

Robert Kosko

Intern

A native of western Pennsylvania, Robert Kosko is currently a senior Music Education Major at Seton Hill University. During his time as an undergraduate student, Robert worked with multiple high school band programs including Baldwin High School and Gateway High School. In his drum corps career, Robert marched trumpet for four years (2018-2021) with the Madison Scouts and served as horn sergeant in 2021. This will be his first year on the brass staff of the Madison Scouts and he is excited for the 2022 season.

Tim, an alumnus of the Blue Devils, spent 7 years on their visual staff, earning 4 DCI World Championships and 4 Best Visual Awards. He has designed and taught for ensembles in 20 different states and three different countries, earning numerous Superior ratings, Best in Class awards, State Champion awards, and BOA Regional Finalist awards.

Todd Ryan

Consultant

Todd Ryan began marching with the Madison Scouts in the 70’s, and aged outed in 1979. Todd began his teaching career giving marching clinics for Bands of America. Over the last 40 years, Todd has collected 18 DCI titles with 4 different drum corps. Since 1990, Todd has been placed within the top 3 30 times.

Brandon Wickham

Consultant

Since starting his teaching career in 2009, Brandon has had the opportunity to work with multiple programs throughout the United States, as well as write, consult, and design for marching ensembles throughout the U.S., China, Taiwan, Malaysia, and England.

Neil Adkison

Instructor

Neil has been involved with the drum corps activity for a little over 20 years as a performer and educator. Most recently Neil spent 4 years with the Blue Knights as the visual caption head, helping them match their highest placement at DCI finals in the corps history. He is very excited to return to work with the Madison Scouts after working with the corps for the 2009, 2012, and 2013 seasons.

Dan Hoffman

Instructor

Dan Hoffman is a marching arts educator, choreographer, and designer based out of Mesa, AZ. Born and raised in Syracuse, NY, Dan graduated from the University of Rochester in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Minor in Dance. His education is supplemented by ample performance experience, including three seasons as a contra player with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps.

Johnathon Bower

Instructor

Johnathon Bower is a Graduate Assistant at Eastern Michigan University, studying Music Education and Trombone Performance. He also currently enjoys teaching marching band and teaching private lessons for Plymouth-Canton Community Schools and Clio Area Schools. He enjoys being on the visual staff at the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.

Arjuna Myles

Arjuna Myles is a full-time drill designer from Gainesville, Florida writing award-winning shows for bands all around the country since 2004. He has written and designed competitive shows for over 100 schools across 20 states. He is an active member of his large community in Florida currently serving as visual caption head and program coordinator of the Gainesville HS marching band.

Sierra Rogers

Sierra Rogers is a Phoenix-based marching arts educator, drill designer, and choreographer. In 2018, Sierra earned a bachelor’s degree in Music from Arizona State University. As an educator, Sierra has served as the visual caption head and choreographer for Flux Indoor Percussion since its inaugural season in 2019.

Kevin Tieck

Instructor

Kevin Tieck is a Visual instructor and choreographer who works with groups throughout the greater Southern California area. He has been teaching both the musical and visual aspects of the pageantry arts since he was 18 and continues to love what he does even through the arduous year of 2020. Kevin is eager to get back on the field to teach since aging out of The Blue Devils in 2020.

Kari White has been involved with the pageantry arts for 27 years. He was a marching member with the Blue Knights, Santa Clara Vanguard, and the Concord Blue Devils.

PJ Tankard began his career in the marching arts as a member of the Elizabeth High School Marching Band in Elizabeth, NJ. His marching experience includes Alter Ego, Black Watch, The Bushwackers, Jersey Surf, and The Cadets.

Mark Istratie began his career in pageantry in Farmington Hills, MI. Upon graduating from Harrison High School, Mark went on to perform with Ancora Winter Guard (2008-2009) and with the Madison Scouts (2008-2010).

Sarah Rillo-Cegielski

Dance Choreographer

Sarah Rillo is a choreographer and consultant currently living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She began her performing arts career in 2007 with the Pride of Broken Arrow from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. After graduating in 2009, Sarah went on to perform with Crossmen in 2010 and 2011 and aged out of the Blue Devils in 2012.

Lucas Schmidt is currently in his first year as the director of the College Park High School Color Guard in the Woodlands, TX. He was previously the director of the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Guard from 2013-2019. In his five years with Plymouth-Canton, the color guard rose from Scholastic A to become a World Class color guard, medaling in Open Class finals along the way. He has also worked with Interplay World in 2017-2018 and Ancora Winterguard in 2013.

Rachel began her colorguard career at Mineola High School in NY in 2008. She marched with Mineola for four years, in both their marching band and winter guard, and had the opportunity to perform in WGI Scholastic A Class Finals in 2011. During her time at Mineola, she continued to march independently in DCA with the Long Island Sunrisers in 2009 and 2011, and the Connecticut Hurricanes in 2012.

Orien Sims

Orien Sims is currently in his 5th year at Gurdon High School (Gurdon, AR) where he serves as the visual coordinator/Color Guard Director. He also serves as a technician and consultant at various school in the area. His performance career began his junior year of high school. After graduating, he went on to perform at Henderson State University, and with the Madison Scouts during the 2018 & 2021 seasons. Orien also performed for one season at Black Gold winter guard.

Eric Pujari

Asst. Caption Head & Front Ensemble Coor.

This is Eric Pujari’s third year with the Madison Scouts. He holds a B.S. in Neurobiology & Physiology from Purdue University, and currently dedicates his time to teaching high school science, various percussion ensembles, and is a facilitator at Synthesis School. Previously, he was an instructor for the Crossmen and a performer at The Bluecoats and Rhythm X.

Cameron Halls is an active percussion educator and arranger based in Dayton, OH. He is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education. Cameron is an accomplished marching and concert percussionist, having extensive performance experience in both fields.

Colin is an active performer and educator in the Metro Atlanta area, currently working as a Battery Coordinator in the Gwinnett County School District, as well as an IT Technician in Atlanta.

Brett Geunes is a marching percussionist and instructor living in East Lansing, Michigan. Originally from Gainesville, Florida, he got his start as a performer in high school and has been involved in the marching arts ever since.

RJ Schaefer

Tenor Instructor

RJ Schaefer is a composer, educator, and performer based in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. He is a recent graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a B.A. in Music, a Co-Major in Arts Management, and minors in Music Composition and Percussion Performance. RJ has been an active percussion educator and arranger at multiple high schools including Fairfield, Hamilton, and Colerain.

Mike Cavanaugh

Mike Cavanaugh has been a part of the marching activity since 2008, when he was introduced to the marching activity as a student at Centerville High School. Since then, he has been a marching member of many World Class WGI and DCI ensembles.

Daniel Copeland

Bass Instructor

Daniel Copeland is a freelance percussion educator and performer originally from Des Moines, Iowa. He recently graduated from Iowa State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology. During his undergraduate years, he performed with several midwest marching organizations including the Iowa State Marching Band, Crossroads Indoor, and The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps.

Chris Carlin

Christopher is a graduate from Felix Varela Senior High School out of Miami, Florida. He began marching Cymbals in WGI his senior year with the Independent A Group FIU Indoor Percussion (formally known as Velocity Indoor Percussion), where he marched 2013 – 2015. He fell in love with this unique medium for performing and began auditioning for world class Drum Corps.

Alex Huizen

Cymbal Instructor

Alex “Scoot” Huizen is a cymbal instructor based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is an alumnus of the Madison Scouts–marching in the cymbal line for two consecutive seasons (2015-2016). He has previously served as a cymbal instructor for the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps and Genesis Percussion.

Anna Koh

Cymbal Instructor

Anna Koh is a cymbal instructor from Farmington Hills, Michigan. She began her cymbal career in 2015 at Farmington United Percussion Ensemble (FUPE) where she marched from 2015 to 2017. Anna continued marching Winter Guard International at Genesis Percussion in 2018, and Redline Percussion from 2019 to 2021. Her first year of drum corps was at Legends DBC in 2017 where she stayed until 2019, she was then contracted at the Madison Scouts for the 2020 season and aged out there in 2021.

Ellie Mehr

Front Ensemble Instructor

Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ellie Mehr is an active percussion educator in the Twin Citiesarea and beyond. She is currently the Front Ensemble Coordinator for Irondale High School inNew Brighton, Minnesota and works as a Front Ensemble Instructor for Minnesota Brass Indoorand the Madison Scouts. Ellie values her students' experiences and she strives to facilitate opportunities that help them grow, both musicially and as individuals, as she teaches.

Michael Reese

Michael Reese is an active music educator and the current Middle School Band Director for the Elida Local School District near Lima, OH. In addition to this work at Elida, he is the Front Ensemble Coordinator for the WGI Percussion Independent World ensemble ConneXus (2018 – Present).

TJ Shaheen

Front Ensemble Instructor

TJ Shaheen is a percussion instructor in the Metro Atlanta area. Currently, he serves as the Director of Percussion at North Gwinnett High School in Suwannee, GA, where he arranges for and teaches the marching percussion, assists in concert preparation, and teaches the daily percussion class.

Aaron Tucker is a freelance percussion educator, designer, and audio specialist living in Fort Worth, Texas. He studied Percussion with an emphasis in Jazz Performance at East Carolina University. In 2002, he had the opportunity to march with the Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle corps, winning a division 2 world championship, and going on to place in finals in division 1 (now known as World Class).

Jackson Herbertz

Audio Staff

Jackson is a freelance percussion instructor and audio tech living in Indianapolis, Indiana. He studied music education at Miami University and specializes in mallet percussion, where he works with the Greenwood and Columbus, IN schools.

Jabrond Gamble

Audio Staff

Jabrond is a freelance Musician and sound engineer and currently resides in the greater Richmond, VA area. Jabrond is an active consultant, clinician, and instructor on the east coast. While newer to Drum Corps, his skills learned in engineering venues, concerts, and various outdoor events have proved invaluable in the marching arts.
