Scouts May Camp Report

The Scouts joined together this past weekend for one final camp prior to spring training. Having completed the WGI percussion season, the battery joined the horns in learning the opener drill on Saturday. The guard’s focus was learning the opener choreography while the front ensemble worked through the first two productions. On Sunday, the horns and battery were marching and playing through a majority of the opening production.

Volunteer projects were underway all weekend. The sewing team continued to fit uniforms while several volunteers spent Saturday doing the spring cleaning on the cook truck. The goal was to have it ready for Saturday’s dinner and, despite a reluctant oven, the cook crew creatively worked through the challenge. The shuttling crew proved once again they are a well-oiled machine as they managed trips to nearby Deforest to use the field as well as Waunakee High School for an extra gym Saturday night. On Sunday, the members organized a special Mother’s Day recognition of all the volunteer mothers complete with flowers.
