The 2009 Madison Scouts are about to start their upcoming tour that has them performing in 32 shows in 18 different states throughout North America. The 8 week season concludes in Indianapolis at the DCI World Championships from August 5 - 8. The on-road team has a few new faces this season, including:Dave Hurlburt - Food OperationsNow known as "Chef Dave", Hurlburt is a graduate of the Le Cordon Blue College of Culinary arts and worked under Chef Rino Baglio at the acclaimed twin cities restaurant Pazzaluna. Dave marched Soprano in Southwind from 1999 through 2002 and then taught visual for the Blue Stars in 2004 and Southwind from 2006-07."I am excited to finally combine my two passions, cooking and drum corps." said Dave. "I feel this is a real opportunity to innovate food in drum corps. These guys are athletes and using food science and nutrition we can feed them like athletes and give them the fuel to succeed."Chad Truitt - Sewing Operations Chad attended The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale where he studied Fashion Design and Marketing. He later attended Troy University where he marched in the Sound of the South Marching Band and participated in the Troy University Gospel Choir, University Collegiate Choir and Concert Band. In 2002, he returned to Troy and worked along side Head Costume Designer John S. Patton of the Troy University Department of Speech and Theatre.Over the last 12 years Chad has taught, consulted , designed , and judged for several marching and winter guard programs in AL, GA, and FL. In 2002 he joined Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps were he served a host of duties on the support staff , management staff and guard staff. Chad continues as a designer for several marching guard and winter guard programs in Southeast Alabama.Wynne MotorcoachesThe Scouts have selected Wynne Motorcoaches for their charter services and have agreed to a 3-year contract through 2011.
