The Coliseum BarBanquet Room232 Olin AvenueMadison, WI 537136:30 p.m.ALS is Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. This year’s event promises to be another fun evening of live music, dancing, food, and drink. Reconnect and socialize with Madison Scouts alumni, friends, and supporters, and also bid on some wonderful silent auction items or win some fantastic raffles and door prizes. Dance and party while supporting research to cure Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).ROCKIN FOR A CURE is the dream of Madison Scouts alum and instructor, Steve Weekes, who came up with the idea while in the waiting room of an ALS Clinic. Shortly after his diagnosis in August 1999, Steve began to work on the ALS benefit and enlisted the help of long-time friends from the Wall of Sound, the Madison Scouts, and various Madison area musicians.Sadly, ALS took Steve’s life in January 2005. However, come to the benefit and feel Steve’s powerful motivation and spirit, and provide hope for others with ALS.We hope to see you at this year’s event. If you are not able to attend please consider supporting the cause by donating either a silent auction item or a monetary gift. All proceeds go to the non-profit organization, ALS Therapy Development Institute (www.als.net).For more information, including the event’s location and entertainment schedule, please call (414-704-0209) or visit our website: www.rockinforacure.orgEmail: michael@madisonscout-volunteers.org.
