Building upon the success of the 2008 season, which saw the Madison Scouts return to DCI's Top 12, the corps' entire design team returns for 2009. "One of our strategies for building lasting success is to build design and teaching teams that are consistent from year to year," said Executive Director Jeff Spanos. "We were very pleased with the 2008 production and the creative energy this group instilled within our staff and corps. Throughout that process we felt this design team effectively balanced good show design principals, audience excitement and Madison Scout tradition. We are excited about the work they are putting towards the 2009 production."Leading the team is five-time DCI World Champion Program Coordinator Ramiro Barrera. His team is rounded-out with Vince Oliver (music arranger), Ken Karlin (drill design), JC Caceres (choreography) and Roger Carter (percussion arranger)."The 2008 program was crafted to push our performers to their limits," said Corps Director Dann Petersen. "It was a show that required a full season to master, but the end result was worth it. The surge of new member interest along with a mature veteran base will allow Ramiro and his team to pursue new concepts and performance expectations in 2009."The 2009 production, titled "El Relámpago", is the second installment of an exploration into Latin American culture. It will feature Latin-flavored musical selections that are becoming the trademark of the Madison Scouts style. The Scouts will be holding auditions in Kentucky, Texas, Indiana, California, Colorado and Wisconsin this fall.
