The Madison Scouts will launch their 2026 season with a special Opening Night performance at historic Breese Stevens Field on June 27, 2026, as part of the venue’s 100th anniversary celebration.
This performance will take place during the “Field of Drums” event, a featured program in Breese Stevens Field’s season-long centennial celebration honoring a century of sports, entertainment, and community in downtown Madison.

For the Madison Scouts, the evening marks more than a performance — it represents a return to one of the organization’s most meaningful historic venues. Breese Stevens Field has long been intertwined with the legacy of the Scouts, serving as a backdrop for performances that helped define the drum corps activity in Madison.
The Opening Night performance will give audiences their first look at the 2026 Madison Scouts production in a uniquely intimate and historic setting. The Scouts are scheduled to take the field at approximately 9:25 PM, closing out an evening that features a diverse lineup of percussive ensembles and local performing groups.
Also featured in the evening’s lineup is Black Star Drum Line, Forward Performing Arts’ community-based percussion program, which will take the stage earlier in the event. Their inclusion highlights the organization’s broader impact—engaging performers across multiple programs and levels while continuing to build the future of the marching arts.
“This is exactly how you want to start a season,” said corps director David Lofy. “To debut our 2026 production in the heart of Madison, at a venue that has been part of our story for generations, and alongside the Black Star Drum Line and other musical organizations. It will be an incredible celebration for the city of Madison and these programs!”
The Field of Drums event will include live performances, food and beverage offerings, and a festival-style atmosphere beginning with gates opening at 5:00 PM.
