The 2010 Madison Scouts are currently accepting applications for the following positions. Please submit your interest and a background of relevant experience to director@madisonscouts.org no later than November 15, 2009.Volunteer Coordinator- Recruit new volunteers to assist with the corps operations- Manage volunteer applications and review process- Coordinate volunteers with needed roles at camps and on tour- Serve as primary point of communication between volunteers and administration- This is a volunteer role reporting to the Executive DirectorTour Manager- Serve as primary point of communication between tour event partners, housing coordinators and administration- Arrange housing for all locations on tour- Check corps in/out of locations on tour- Coordinate routes and drivers on tour- Find needed locations on tour and coordinate daily runs- This is a compensated role reporting to the Corps DirectorPhysical Therapist/Medical Technician- Assess and treat injuries on tour- Serve as primary point of communication between DCI medical team and administration- Coordinate medical runs on tour- Manage injury/illness reports- This is either an intern or compensated role reporting to the Corps DirectorFood Operations Director- Oversee food operations for winter, spring and summer programs- Serve 3-4 meals daily for 200 people during corps training and tour- Plan menu according to balanced nutrition for high-level athletes- Inform and educate membership of healthy eating choices through menu planning- Coordinate food orders/deliveries/perishable runs- Manage a $90K budget line item- Manage team of 3-4 cook crew volunteers- Maintain sanitary work space- This position may be shared, it could include compensation and it reports to the Corps DirectorUniform & Sewing Director- Oversee uniform and costume maintenance for the corps and guard- Attend camps to take and record measurements of membership- Fit uniforms/guard costumes during spring training- Record uniform numbers and manage organizational system- Manage uniform upkeep, laundering and adjustments while on tour- This position may be shared, it could include compensation and it reports to the Corps DirectorTransportation Director- Assess all fleet vehicle requirements for the season- Assess and develop a comprehensive safety evaluation of the fleet and/or vendors to the fleet- Make recommendations as to equipment changes required in order to best meet the needs of the operating corps- Be responsible for all DOT and State of Wisconsin filings for fleet safety, driver compliance and any other registration or paperwork required- Arrange a leasing agreement for the tractor requirements of the fleet- Arrange a leasing agreement for the bus requirements for the corps members- Develop a system by which all paperwork is appropriately filed and archived in a suitable fashion for audit control- This is a volunteer role reporting to the Executive DirectorMedia Specialist- Capture photographic and video content for the season- Attend at least 2 camps during the spring- Meet the corps at least 4 times during the season or tour with the corps- This is an intern position and reports to the Executive DirectorHistorian- Oversee the historical archives of the corps- Gather and safely store the existing archives of photos, film and information- Where suitable, digitize photography, videos and audio- Develop an annual historical summary of the corps with verbal and visual content- Publish certain items via the web and merchandise certain assets via DVD and other means- Store and catalog the corps historical effects, trophies, artifacts, etc.- This is a volunteer role reporting to the Executive Director
