The Madison Scouts are within 2 weeks of launching the 2009 season in Rockford, IL. For the past several days I have been in Baraboo watching spring training and I can report that we have an incredibly talented and motivated group of young men that are excited about earning their place in Madison Scouts' history. This year's production, Relámpago, is shaping up to be a signature Scouts show and is sure to excite drum corps fans throughout our 7 week summer tour.We just completed the successful "Superman Alumni" campaign which raised over $32,000 from over 180 alumni. We are now switching gears into a new fund raising campaign called "Invest in Excellence".At the start of this season, we adopted the slogan "Commit to Excellence". From the administration, to the staff and throughout the corps we have all committed ourselves to perform at the highest levels. This commitment to personal excellence is demonstrated by the corps in how they approach rehearsal, how they conduct themselves, and how they interact with their brothers. From an administrative and staff perspective, it's reflected in how we educate and prepare the Madison Scouts for life outside the boundaries of drum corps. But the system that is the Madison Scouts take resources to run. Organizationally, we have done incredible work to improve the financial foundation of the corps. We have asked our members to step up and help pursue some new fund raising opportunities and they have. We have developed new business ventures which are proving to be good sources of income for the corps. But a vital component to the equation is the continued support of our patrons through donations.I ask you to join me and Invest in Excellence that is the Madison Scouts!DONATE NOWFor those who have already donated at the $250 level and above, you will be contacted shortly about your premiums including the complimentary tailgate event before the Drums on Parade show in Madison.
