Forward Leadership Drum Major Camps assist attendees in building skills in the following areas: leadership, teaching, and conducting. Jason Robb will teach leadership and teaching courses, and David Lofy will teach conducting with the assistance of Zayra Mata-Velazquez and Leyira Gininwa, current Madison Scouts Drum Majors. Meet the Team
LEADERSHIP – develop an in-depth awareness of your unique skill-set and personality, and learn how to build meaningful connections with those you lead.
TEACHING – build your teaching tool-box for the moments when you’re asked to teach your peers. Learn how to effectively facilitate the band’s rehearsal procedure from the podium, a tool utilized by leading drum corps and marching bands.
CONDUCTING – advance your conducting technique as you develop your fall show music alongside former and current Madison Scouts drum majors.
The camp will culminate in a performance showcase of individual drum major teams and the full group.
