The Madison Scouts are pleased to announce the contract extension of Executive Director Chris Komnick through October 2018.

“I am extremely pleased that we have entered into a contract that will result in Chris continuing to serve as our Executive Director for the next three years.” states Board President Gregg Auby. “Under his leadership and the excellent staff he’s assembled, the Madison Scouts continue to positively impact thousands of students each year. Chris has a tremendous skill set and is tirelessly dedicated to the Madison Scouts; that's a powerful combination.”Komnick assumed the role of Executive Director in the fall of 2008 after previously serving on the Scouts’ board of directors. He has served on the Drum Corps International Board of Directors since 2012 and is currently Vice Chairman. At the conclusion of the 2012 season, he was selected as the DCI “Director of the Year”.Komnick is an alumnus of the Scouts, where he marched mellophone in 1984, 1985 and in the 2006 Alumni Reunion Project. Komnick holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a master’s degree in business administration from Miami University. The bulk of his career was spent in software development where he worked for various high-tech start-ups.
