April 2, 2008 – Madison, WI – The Madison Scouts announce that the following individuals have been named to the guard staff for the 2008 season:· Tracy Wooton – Caption Supervisor· Anthony Erevia – Caption Head· JC Caceres – Design Team/Choreographer· Luke Holliger – Instructional staff· Madeleine Dardeau – Instructional staff· Angie Haugejorden - Instructional staffTracy Wooton, JC Caceres and Anthony Erevia return to lead the Scouts color guard team and program in 2008. Tracy Wooton returns as the caption supervisor and is responsible for developing the instructional staff and implementing the curriculum and approach for the color guard program. Anthony Erevia also continues in his role as caption head, managing the program throughout the year and working with the membership and his staff to establish an efficient structure for the performing season.Staff additions, including Luke Holliger, Madeleine Dardeau and Angie Haugejorden, will complete the summer touring staff. With a diverse set of experiences and backgrounds, this team will work with JC Caceres during the early summer months as the design, staging, equipment work and choreography are being implemented.“Coming off the momentum from last year, I feel we have a solid foundation to continue to build a top notch color guard program,” explained Anthony Erevia, caption head. “Great additions to our instructional staff and a strong design approach will allow us to capture the spirit of the activity in a way the Madison Scouts color guard program has been known for.”“We are excited to have JC back this year as part of the design team, especially with the addition of Ramiro Barrera as the program coordinator,” stated Corps Director, Dann Petersen. “JC's writing and choreography is cutting edge – just check out the beginning of the Tango from last year's “Unbound” show. With Ramiro's incredible experience designing top-level shows, it is going to be an exciting year as this team develops the 2008 production.”A strong commitment to building the program with a solid recruiting strategy and retention of returning members has lead Madison to create a special initiative for the color guard. The Madison Scouts Color Guard Fellowship is a new effort to assist guard members with annual dues through a direct connection to the Madison Scouts’ color guard alumni.“We've really taken a multi-tiered approach on how to address some of the issues our program has had in the past” stated Executive Director Jeff Spanos. “Top design and choreography mixed with an experienced and dedicated staff is an important start to our success. We have also engaged our network of staff, members and alumni to take an active role in the recruiting process and fundraising efforts.
