Lucas Smith is a cymbal educator based in the Northern Virginia area, currently teaching cymbals with the George Mason University Indoor Drumline and the Madison Scouts.
Lucas Smith began his cymbal education in 2014 at Chantilly High School, where he continued to march until graduating in 2017. He then marched on the Madison Scouts cymbal line in 2018 and continued in WGI as a member of the George Mason Indoor Drumline from 2018-2022, serving as cymbal section leader for his last two in-person marching seasons. He has been teaching cymbals since 2018 at Woodbridge HS (2018-2020), Freedom HS (2022), Jersey Surf (2022), Empyrean Percussion (2023), Music City Drum Corps (2023), the Crossmen (2024-2025), and most recently, George Mason Indoor Drumline (2024-present).
Lucas graduated from George Mason University in 2021 with a B.A. in Marketing and works as the Creative Director at MtoM Consulting in Falls Church, VA.
