Josh Meyer is thrilled to be joining the visual team at the Madison Scouts. Josh is currently the Associate Director of Bands at Pelham High School in Pelham, AL, where he instructs the Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and leads the visual program for the Green Machine Marching Band, a perennial Regional Finalist at Bands of America events.
Josh holds a Bachelor of Science in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Alabama and a Master of Music Education from Florida State University. He is currently in his ninth year as a public school music educator, and was most recently honored as Alabama’s 2025 Outstanding Young Bandmaster from the Rho Chapter of the Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity.
Josh’s drum corps performance experience includes five years with the Bluecoats from 2012-2016. After aging out, Josh stayed active in the drum corps activity, serving as the visual caption head for Music City from 2017-2018, and later as a visual technician for the Bluecoats in the 2019 season. Currently, Josh is also drill writer and visual designer for SouthCoast Music and Design, a marching arts design company based out of Huntsville, AL.
Josh currently resides in Pelham with his wonderful wife Marthalyn, and their son, Finn Meyer, who has just recently made them a family of three!
