Baritone Instructor

Dr. Jonathan Gill is an educator and trombonist with more than 25 years of experience teaching students of every age and ability. He holds a D.M.A. in Trombone Performance from the University of North Texas and an M.S. in Kinesiology (Adapted Physical Education) from Texas Woman's University.

A former Madison Scouts baritone, Jon spent seven seasons on the brass staff of The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. He also taught trombone and low brass at Tarleton State and Southeastern Oklahoma State universities and ran a private studio of up to 60 students across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. As a performer he served as Principal Trombone of the Wichita Falls Symphony, appeared as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, and recorded with the Dallas Wind Symphony and North Texas Wind Symphony.

Today Jon teaches special education at the elementary level. There he uses the same methodical, individualized approach that shaped his music teaching to help students with disabilities grow.
