Johnathon Bower holds a master's and bachelor’s in Music Education from Eastern Michigan University. During his graduate studies he also completed coursework for the trombone performance track. John researched and presented on nineteenth century trombone pedagogy from the Paris Conservatoire. Currently John serves the Electrical and Computer Engineering students at Purdue University as an academic advisor.
Before his current role he spent nine years as a band director, lesson teacher, clinician, and freelance trombonist. John is on the visual staffs at the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and Cap City Percussion. John marched Glassmen from 2009-2012. In 2017 John won a WGI World Championship with RhythmX winds. He is an avid orchestral performer, playing in several community orchestras, pit orchestras, and the Wayne State Orchestra.
