Jeff Manion

Treasurer

As the longest-tenured Director on the Board, having served since 2004, Jeff has seen the organization grow from the brink of collapse to its best net asset position since 2005. His Board experience provides a unique perspective of not only the successes and failures of the past, but of the current evolutionary trajectory and challenges. Jeff goes well beyond the Duties of a Board member in providing foresight, oversight and insight to the organization by volunteering to manage several key areas integral to revenue, risk management and safety. Among those are the planning and execution of Drums on Parade and The Whitewater Classic including volunteer recruitment, corps housing, marketing, grants and sponsorships, group sales, and day of show planning and execution. In 2019, these two events netted close to $60K for the organization.

Jeff also recruits and onboards CDL and non-CDL drivers for the Madison Scouts in compliance with DOT requirements and manages fleet filings for the DOT and IFTA. Jeff is always first to step into any volunteer role needed by the organization including food crew, bus driver, warehouse worker, camp volunteer, airport transportation, and souvenir crew. In 2017, Jeff was bestowed DCI’s prestigious “Volunteer of the Year” award for his tireless effort to support the Madison Scouts, he is truly the epitome of service to others. A Director of Software Development at Standard Imaging, Jeff is well versed in coordinating with a variety of teams and personalities as well as forecasting, business strategies and conflict resolution. Jeff marched in the Madison Junior Scouts from ‘70-’72, with the Madison Scouts in ‘73 and ‘74 and the MSARP in ‘06 and Macy’s in ‘14.
