Madison Scouts Launch Indoor Percussion Group

Forward Performing Arts and the Madison Scouts announce the launch of Madison Scouts Indoor Percussion, a new performing ensemble starting this fall. The indoor percussion ensemble will compete in the Percussion Independent Open division of Winter Guard International (WGI) in the upcoming 2022 season. Based in Southwest Ohio, the organization will be directed by Matt Hahn and Ryan Ellis.

“Forward Performing Arts and the Madison Scouts are committed to creating new performance and educational opportunities for students across the marching arts activity,” stated FPA Executive Director, Chris Komnick. “We are excited to create more opportunities for students to receive World Class percussion instruction and training year-round across multiple ensembles.”

The design team will include Matt Hahn, Ryan Ellis, Joshua Wendt, Noah Bellamy, and Jason Robb who currently design for the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.

“Building a quality percussion program requires a consistent educational philosophy for the students,” said Matt Hahn. “The indoor group will enable us to continue developing and impacting more students throughout the year.”

“Our philosophy is built around the culture of the organization and the experience of the membership,” added Ryan Ellis. “We will continue the educational approach that we are building and honing within the Madison Scouts organization.”

More details around the ensemble and the 2022 season will be announced in the coming weeks, along with educational staff and audition dates. For students interested in more information, please click below to stay connected with news and announcements.
